同基本整流装置以及回馈整流装置相比，有源整流装置会产生一个可调节的直流电压，且无论电网电压怎样变化，这个直流电都会在电源电压允许的波动范围内使直流电压保持稳定值。有源整流装置与有源滤波装置相结合，可从供电系统吸收几近正弦的电流。几乎不会产生任何谐波。电流总谐波失真系数 THD(I) 电压总谐波失真系数 THD(U) 通常在大约 3 % 范围内。符合 IEEE 519 (2014) 标准的严格限值。运行有源整流柜所需的所有组件都集成在有源滤波装置中。

对于小于等于 60A 的电机模块： DC 母排上通过的电流必须小于 100A。
