PC is a kind of weak polar polymer. Although the electrical insulation of PC is not as good as that of polyolefins, it still has good electrical insulation. Because of its high glass transition temperature and low moisture absorption, it can maintain good electrical properties under a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions. Especially, its dielectric constant and dielectric loss are close to constant in the range of 10 ~ 130 ℃, so it is suitable for manufacturing capacitors. PC polycarbonate has certain chemical resistance. It is resistant to water, organic acid, dilute inorganic acid, oxidant, salt, oil, fatty hydrocarbon and alcohol at room temperature. However, it is eroded by alkali, amine, ketone, ester and aromatic hydrocarbon, and dissolved in trimethyl methane, dichloroethane, cresol and other solvents. Long term immersion in boiling water will also occur hydrolysis. In some chemical reagents, such as carbon tetrachloride, polycarbonate may cause stress cracking
