该PTC热敏电阻主要用于数字化焊机 、逆变直流手弧焊机、逆变直流氩弧/手弧焊机等焊接设备的过热、过流保护。其主要原理为当焊接设备正常工作时流经PTC热敏电阻的电流不**过其较*作电流，PTC处于低阻状态，当出现异常状态时电路电流大大**过额定电流时，PTC陡然发热，阻值骤增**阻态，从而限制或阻断电流，保护电路不受损坏。电流电流回复正常后，PTC亦自动回复至低阻态，电路恢复正常工作。
替代传统的水泥电阻。
